A study recently published by the British Journal of Urology International asserts that men in their 20s can reduce by a third their chance of getting prostate cancer by ejaculating more than five times a week. Another US study, which followed nearly 30,000 men over eight years, showed that those that ejaculated most frequently were significantly less likely to develope prostate cancer. The results confirm the results of a smaller Australian study revealed by New Scientist in July 2003. In the latest study, the group with the highest lifetime average of ejaculation - 21 times per month - were a third less likely to develop the cancer than the reference group, who ejaculated four to seven times a month. Commenting on the research London based, masseur, Seb Cox said, "We need to be very clear here, ejaculate more and stronger, thats the best way to maintain prostatic health".

The best way to keep your prostate healthy is to have regular strong orgasms, getting regular sexercise, managing stress levels, taking stretch and activity (and breathing) breaks from long periods of sitting and computer work, eating a low fat, higher-fiber, more vegetarian and wholesome diet; and avoiding excess use of refined sugars, red meats and alcohol, while obtaining adequate essential fatty acids daily, such as from two teaspoons of flaxseed oil. Zinc, Vitamins C and E and the B vitamins, particularly B6 are important for a healthy prostate.
The male prostate gland has a far greater concentration of zinc than any other gland in the body. A lack of zinc in the diet is believed to be responsible for prostatic infections (prostatitis) and increasing zinc intake can help cure chronic prostatitis. In a study conducted at the Centre for the Study of Prostatic Diseases at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Dr. Irving Bush and his colleagues found that 50 to 100 mg of zinc a day improved or completely eradicated symptoms of chronic prostatitis and BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia or enlarged prostate). Clinical trials testing whether Selenium and vitamin E could prevent skin and lung cancers proved disappointing -- until researchers realized that participants in these studies had a 30 to 60 percent lower-than-normal incidence of prostate cancer.
Pomegranate juice may reduces men's risk of developing prostate cancer. It was found that in men drinking pomegranate juice it took 54 months for PSA levels to double, compared with just 15 months for men who did not drink the beverage. Lead researcher Dr Allan Pawtuck, said: "I was surprised when I saw such an improvement in PSA numbers."In older men aged 65 to 70 who have been treated, we can give them pomegranate juice and it may be possible for them to outlive their risk

Eating fatty fish like salmon, sardines, herring and mackerel could reduce the risk of prostate cancer by a third, according to a report in June 2 issue of The Lancet. Essential fatty acids -- especially omega-3 fatty acids contained in large amounts in fatty fish -- have already been proven to inhibit the growth of prostate cancer cells. Paul Terry and colleagues from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden, followed over 6,000 Swedish men age 55 for up to thirty years to see whether eating fatty fish would reduce risk of prostate cancer. The men were asked about diet, smoking habits, alcohol drinking and physical activity. The men were followed up between 1967 and 1997. Researchers calculated number of cases of prostate cancer and of deaths caused by the disease by consulting the Swedish National Cancer Register and National Death Register. During a 30-year follow-up, 466 men were diagnosed with prostate cancer, and 340 of these men died. The men who ate no fish had a two-fold to three-fold higher risk of prostate cancer than those who ate moderate or high amounts.
